Self Confidence and its Role in Planning for Success

Self confidence is a very important aspect for any person. Self confidence takes a substantial amount of time to build up especially for people who have been through a number of difficult situations in life. Self confidence also tends to vary from one person to the other. Certain people experience tragedy and do not lose their self confidence while others lose everything completely when faced with similar situations.

The loss a self confidence is largely a psychological problem and exists solely in the mind. A large number of people tend to lose faith in themselves when they experience tragedies or events which tend to alter the course of their lives. Where an individual has a will, their will most definitely be a way and everybody at certain times in their lives requires a measure of self confidence. So through what means can you gain back your self confidence? The process may take a substantial amount of time but the most important thing is to develop the belief that it can be done.

People who lack self confidence usually require nothing more than simple guidance. If you guide them properly in the right manner and you show them how to look at the better side of things in life and show them their inner strengths, they will often find their way and get back their self confidence. These are a number of things which will help bring back self confidence.

Feel good factor: This is quite rare, especially in this age which we live in today. We rarely feel good about a lot of things and when we do this it really doesn’t last that long. The issue of feeling good can inspire anybody but in order to do this you should think of four things which will make you feel good. As soon as they have been identified, make sure that they remain in your mind as a pleasant memory, a dream, an event etc. Remember them whenever you feel down. This will help you to battle the negative forces like depression, stress etc and increase your self confidence.

Self Conscious: This is the enemy number one. If you are a very thin person and don’t have a girlfriend or people don’t mix with you so much or if you are not popular, then you will reach the self conscious stage, which is harmful as it will destroy your self-confidence. The result is that you will go deeper into the quicksand of depression, self abuse, self destruction, self hatred and this can even lead to suicide.

The best way to combat all this is by believing that it cannot get any worse than the way it already is and that it can only get better. You can probably wear much better clothes and meet people who share the same mindset that you do and create your own group. Just because you are thin and you have no girlfriend won’t be an issue after a period of time because you will have a lot more friends. You can even go for a personality change and change your hairstyle, get rid of your spectacles and get contact lenses instead. Some people go as far as changing their entire wardrobes.

If you succeed your level of self confidence will increase for the better. You should however remember to keep yourself grounded because you may tend to become over confident and over stretch yourself which only causes more problems.
