Enduring the shivery shakes of a cold is difficult. Finding an immediate escape is what most of us are looking for. A quick home remedy for the shaking unbearable feeling is to wrap yourself up. Bundling in your bed under the covers may give you the quickest warm up!
The body uses colds as a way of escape as we use yoga for relaxation. When the system gets overwhelmed it will start crashing. You will experience the break down of your immune system as your nose releases mucus getting rid of the unhealthy stuff. When you get a cold you will feel tired and have many aches and pains. You must listen to your body because if it goes unnoticed you can create even more serious problems.
Noticing that you have a cold coming is a major help. You can do several things to stop it or help it go through its cycle faster.
A cold is a build up of toxins in the body and here are a few things to help release them:
1. Rest: Rest is an essential part of getting better. If you do not rest you can not help yourself or anybody else. If working is necessary then you should not do everything at once. Take your time and only do a light load. Taking lots of Vitamin C while pregnant is important. You can find Vitamin C in lemon juice, rose hips and parsley, as well as oranges but if you are pregnant check with your doctor first.
2. Use of Lemon Juice: Lemon juice and water vapors can also stop some colds dead in their tracks!
3. Natural Zinc: Zinc is a natural cold preventer. Taking things with zinc inside them such as; Pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds will help you fight off your cold.
4. Sweating out your cold: And last but certainly not least is just merely sweating it out! Starting with peppermint tea and garlic will help you get the sweating going. Follow that with some boiled milk and onion. Don’t worry it won’t hurt you, though it may not sound or smell all that great it will help you stimulate sweating. 3rd you can grab a steaming cup of grated ginger, honey and lemon juice. This will keep circulation going and heighten sweating.
Taking a Mustard Footbath: When taking a mustard footbath Use 1 teaspoon of powdered mustard and one teaspoon baking soda. Then use a deep bucket with the water hot and keeping your feet and legs in for 10 minutes. This will also help simulate sweating. Follow it by a full bath.
If you catch the cold when the signs first come on you can get rid of it rather quickly however we all know that we don’t always listen to our bodies as much as we should. No one enjoys having a cold but with a few home remedies you can cook up in your kitchen you can be back to your self in no time!
